The Politics of Pausing

Here's a question absolutely crucial to all of you devoted DVD watchers out there. When you wish to watch Battlestar Galactica, but also eat dinner, how many pauses are reasonable? Does it depend primarily on their number or location within the episode? And what kind of meals really maximize the 43 minutes you are sitting on that futon, in terms of expecting something nourishing and delicious, rather than breaking everything up into intervals, which can be maddening?

A lot of baked goods are out of the question, of course, as those are finnecky, and one often has to check them several times within a short time frame, in order to ensure they do not burn. Therefore, I'm thinking casserole type dishes are ideal.

Unfortunately, I'm not too experienced with casseroles, and I'm also not sure how well they'd work for just one or two people, as I get the impression they're really designed for Minnesota hot dish and the like.

Tell you what, dear readers. I'm going to try one out this evening, and I'll let you know how it affected my television experience.

Because, let's face it, this stuff matters.
