How can we wait till January?

So, I need season four. But alas, the DVD comes out a mere ten days before 4.5 starts airing on SciFi. This is why we are freaking paying for cable, and I for one am sta-ressed out about it.

That said, what are your favorite coping mechanisms to employ, while you're waiting for new episodes of a favorite show? Engaging fan culture as much as possible? Battlestar wiki? Distract yourself with a similar show? Compulsive eating?

Leave your ideas here, at the greatest commentless blog in history.

CFP: A Very Battlestar Thanksgiving

CFP (that's Call for Papers, for those who don't know): Your thoughts on how best to incorporate everyone's favorite television show into everyone's favorite holiday meal.

Submissions should be 250-500 words, and received by 3:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Nov 25, so I can post them in time for everyone to shop for ingredients.

E-mail me at alejandra (dot) jenkins (at) gmail (dot) com.

First Recipe: Vegetable Soup

Ingredients:

leeks
tiny onions
carrots
garlic
herbs
noodles

Process:

cut up your vegetables. saute them. pour water on top (and then add bouillon), or use broth. bring to a boil.

go watch Battlestar Galactica.

come back, and add noodles and herbs. chat with your Battlestar buddy about what you think might happen in the next episode.

get big bowl of soup. take it into the living room. watch more Battlestar Galactica.

I am a genius

Okay, I am a genius. My name is Gaius Baltar, and this is my new blog.

Do you like Battlestar and eating dinner?

Well, I'm going to make your dreams come true. I'm going to post recipes that require a one-episode wait period (roughly 42 minutes, if you are watching the DVDs), so that you will no longer have to pause at the best parts.

Some preliminary ideas:

baked squash
vegetable soup
lasagna

And here's the real kicker: these are delicious winter meals that you can sit down and enjoy during the next episode.

Happy Battlestar cooking! No algae here.
